Sculpture Exhibition

On Dec. 4th, all of my classmates and I went to watch the sculpture exhibition of Wu Weishan in Nanjing University with our planning teacher and art teacher. Wu Weishan is a professor of Nanjing University, a famous sculptor of China. I had heard of him before, but I had never watch his sculpture exhibition. I had a chance that day.
When we came to the hall, I found it was so big. There were many sculptures in it. I could recognize some ones, but more ones I can not recognize. There, we saw his most famous sculpture – the sleeping baby. The baby was so lovely. Then we saw the sculpture of the Queen of Holland, Beatrix, when Wu Weishan received the invitation and created it. Besides, we also saw the sculptures of Deng Jiaxian, the famous scientist of China, Lu Xun, the famous writer, Xu Beihong, the famous painter, Confucius and some others. He used the different styles to make the sculptures according to their different characters. His sculptures are different from the European ones. The sculptures he made are not the exact looks of real persons. What he cares is the characters of looks, as is vivid. Among the sculptures, I like the Mother and Baby best. Because it has no details. It shows us mother is playing plane game with her child. what it expresses is the love of mother.
At noon, we saw Wu Weishan. He is younger than what I imagined. He looks very kind and friendly. We talked and walked around him. All of us had took pictures with him, and then the teachers talked with him. I thought we were lucky to see the famous sculptor.
After taking pictures, we came back to school, and we were very excited.

The Date in SALSA

On Dec. 6th, my classmates, grade 12 students and me went to the SALSA Restaurant, which is an Mexican one located at Danfeng Street. This was my first time to take the Mexican food. So I was very hopeful and excited to go there.
When we came to the restaurant, we found that it was a small restaurant with typical Mexican food. But someone else was not reach there on time, so we had to wait for them. During the waiting time, I was so anxious because I want to have the typical food as soon as possible. About half an hour later, all of us had already came. Then we started our date.
We divided us into several groups. Doris, Vincent and I was in one Group. We asked the waitress to give us the menu. After our discussion, we decided to order the black pepper sirloin with white onion and shared it(I am not sure the name of the food is right), then I ordered the Tacos and icecream. Several minutes later, we got all the food we ordered. But what made me disappointed was that the black pepper sirloin with white onion was not as delicious as I imagined. I do not like the white onion. As to the ice-cream, it was not very delicious either. But Doris and Vincent thought they were nice. Maybe everyone has their own tastes. Fortunately, the Taco was great. I liked it. If I came there next time, I would order it again. After we ate up all the food, we talked each other, with the things in school - happy ones, sad ones, good ones and bad ones. We talked and laughed. Good days always pass quickly. Two hours had passed, we had to leave.
On the whole, we had a nice day except the disappointing food. The food did not make me unhappy, because I knew that the aim of our date was just to talk and change our minds. We did it. So we should have more dates in the future. They can help us to encourage exchange. Then we can know our friends better and get on with them easier. Here I want to tell my friends, I love you because you give me the happiness and the good friendship.
